Jansen, Cornelius Otto

Pronunciation: /ˈdʒans(ə)n/
(1585–1638), Flemish Roman Catholic theologian and founder of Jansenism. A strong opponent of the Jesuits, he proposed a reform of Christianity through a return to St Augustine.
