Kelvin, 1st Baron

Pronunciation: /ˈkɛlvɪn/
(1824–1907), British physicist and natural philosopher; born William Thomson. He is best known for introducing the absolute scale of temperature. He also restated the second law of thermodynamics and was involved in the laying of the first Atlantic cable, for which he invented several instruments.
