An industrial city in the far east of Russia, on the Amur River; population 272,400 (est. 2008). It was built in 1932 by members of the Komsomol on the site of the village of Permskoe. Also called Komsomolsk-on-Amurˌkɒmsəˈmɒlskˌɒnəˈmʊə.
