Landsteiner, Karl

Pronunciation: /ˈlandstʌɪnə/
(1868–1943), Austrian-born American physician. In 1930 Landsteiner was awarded a Nobel Prize for devising the ABO system of classifying blood. He was also the first to describe the rhesus factor in blood.
