Lutyens, Sir Edwin

Pronunciation: /ˈlʌtjənz/
(1869–1944), English architect; full name Sir Edwin Landseer Lutyens. He established his reputation designing country houses, but is particularly known for his plans for New Delhi (1912), where he introduced an open garden-city layout, and for the Cenotaph in London (1919–21).
