A technique in which a computer treats peripheral devices as if they were located in the main memory.
- As far as drivers are concerned, memory mapping can be implemented to provide user programs with direct access to device memory.
- IOService provides one device memorymapping method, mapDeviceMemoryWithIndex, that maps a physical memory range of a device at the given index (passed in the first parameter).
