Menai Strait

Pronunciation: /ˈmɛnʌɪ/
A channel separating Anglesey from the mainland of NW Wales. It is spanned by two bridges, a suspension bridge built by Thomas Telford 1819–26 and a second, built by Robert Stephenson 1846–50.
