1(In the Netherlands, South Africa, and parts of the US) a measure of land equal to about 0.8 hectare or two acres.
2(In Norway, Denmark, and Germany) a measure of land now equal to about 0.3 hectare or two thirds of an acre.

Origin

Early 17th century: from Dutch, or from German Morgen 'morning', apparently from the notion of ‘an area of land that can be ploughed in a morning’.
