O'Neill, Eugene

Pronunciation: /əʊˈniːl/
(1888–1953), American playwright; full name Eugene Gladstone O’Neill. He was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for his first full-length play, Beyond the Horizon (1920). Other notable works: The Iceman Cometh (1946) and Long Day’s Journey into Night (1956, posthumously).
