Orton, Arthur

Pronunciation: /ˈɔːt(ə)n/
(1834–98), English butcher; known as the Tichborne claimant. In 1866 he returned to England from Australia claiming to be the heir to the valuable Tichborne estate. He lost his claim and was tried and imprisoned for perjury.
