A looping movement made by an aircraft in which the back of the aircraft is on the outside of the curve.
- Though the Decathlon's teardrop-shaped wing lends itself to inverted flight better than the conventional Citabria airfoil, negative maneuvers are restricted to outside loops, English bunts and inverted spins.
- Decathlons could fly outside loops, inverted snaps and other upside-down tricks, and not many pilots cared about the 140-knot cruise.
