Prut

Pronunciation: /pruːt/
(also Pruth)
A river of SE Europe, which rises in the Carpathian Mountains in southern Ukraine and flows south-east for 850 km (530 miles), joining the Danube near Galaţi in Romania. For much of its course it forms the border between Romania and Moldova.
