Definition of reference group in English:
A social group that a person takes as a standard in forming attitudes and behavior.
- To highlight the two extremes of the scale, the mid-category was chosen as the reference group in the logistic regression.
- ‘If someone in your reference group has more,’ he says, ‘you get a little anxious.’
- The rates/means were compared across the subgroups using the island Puerto Ricans as the reference group.
