Rolland, Romain

/ʀɔlɑ̃/
(1866–1944), French novelist, playwright, and essayist. His interest in genius led to a number of biographies, and ultimately to Jean-Christophe (1904–12), a cycle of ten novels about a German composer. Nobel Prize for Literature (1915).
