A sheep of a large long-woolled breed found in the Pennine area of England.
- Breeds such as Rough Fells and Dalesbred exist in large numbers and are commercially farmed, but are threatened to extinction when a disease such as foot-and-mouth hits their homelands.
- Farmers do not necessarily get their own fleece back and, in the case of Rough Fells, it is mixed with similar fleeces from Scottish black-faced sheep.
