Sanger, Margaret

Pronunciation: /ˈsaŋə/
(1883–1966), American birth-control campaigner; full name Margaret Higgins Sanger. Her experiences as a nurse prompted her to distribute the pamphlet Family Limitation in 1914 and to found the first American birth-control clinic in 1916.
