(In the Jewish calendar) the fifth month of the civil and eleventh of the religious year, usually coinciding with parts of January and February.
- Congregations plant trees and pursue agricultural projects on Tu B'Shevat, the 15th day of the Hebrew month of Shevat.
- The government edict which came at the beginning of Shevat, 1892, required all students to leave town within three days.
