Shatt al-Arab

Pronunciation: /ˌʃat al ˈarəb/
A river of SW Asia, formed by the confluence of the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers and flowing 195 km (120 miles) through SE Iraq to the Persian Gulf. Its lower course forms the border between Iraq and Iran.
