Definition of shikhara in English:
A spire on a Hindu temple.
- Built by the Guptas, this ruined, but well-conserved, temple was reputedly the first northern Indian temple with a shikhara or spire.
- The earlier version of the symbols, which appeared in the February, 1997, issue included the shikhara, tulsi, urdhvapundra and Lord Krishna.
- The base of the minarets is covered by what seems to be almost temple shikharas rising one upon the other, vocabulary extensively used in a classical temple.
