Simpson, Wallis

Pronunciation: /ˈsɪmps(ə)n/
(1896–1986), American wife of Edward, Duke of Windsor (Edward VIII); born Wallis Warfield. Her relationship with the king caused a scandal in view of her impending second divorce and forced the king’s abdication in 1936.
