Swift, Jonathan

Pronunciation: /swɪft/
(1667–1745), Irish satirist, poet, and Anglican cleric; known as Dean Swift. He is best known for Gulliver’s Travels (1726), a satire on human society in the form of a fantastic tale of travels in imaginary lands.
