Tallis, Thomas

Pronunciation: /ˈtalɪs/
(Circa 1505–85), English composer. Organist of the Chapel Royal jointly with William Byrd, he served under Henry VIII, Edward VI, Mary, and Elizabeth I. His works include the forty-part motet Spem in Alium.
