Tanagra

Pronunciation: /ˈtanəɡrə/
An ancient Greek city in Boeotia, site of a battle in 457 bc during the Peloponnesian War. It has given its name to a type of terracotta figurine, often of a young woman, made there and elsewhere mainly in the 4th and 3rd centuries bc.
