Villa, Pancho

Pronunciation: /ˈviːljə/
(1878–1923), Mexican revolutionary; born Doroteo Arango. After playing a prominent role in the revolution of 1910–11 he overthrew the dictatorial regime of General Victoriano Huerta in 1914 together with Venustiano Carranza, but then rebelled against Carranza’s regime with Emiliano Zapata.
