Westinghouse, George

Pronunciation: /ˈwɛstɪŋhaʊs/
(1846–1914), American engineer. His achievements covered several fields but he is best known for developing vacuum-operated safety brakes and electrically controlled signals for railways. He built up a huge company to manufacture his products.
