Wilder, Billy

Pronunciation: /ˈwʌɪldə/
(1906–2002), Austrian-born American film director and screenwriter; born Samuel Wilder. He earned recognition as a writer-director with the film noir classic Double Indemnity (1944). Other films include The Apartment (1960), which won three Oscars.
