Definición de viropexis en inglés:
sustantivo[mass noun] Microbiology
The process by which a virus particle becomes attached to a cell wall and incorporated into the cell by phagocytosis.
- This process is known as viropexis where the virus membrane does not become part of the vesicle membrane.
- Virosomes were taken up by Vero cells by viropexis with no evidence of fusion.
- With nonenveloped viruses, both viropexis and fusion mechanisms of entry have been reported but more emphasis has been given to changes in virion structure as a result of attachment than to the details by which the virus gains access to particular intracellular sites.
