Definition of Davis, Jefferson in English:

( 1808–89), US politician and president of the Confederate States of America (CSA). As a US senator from Mississippi 1847–51 and a defender of slavery, he withdrew from the Senate when Mississippi seceded from the Union and was elected president of the CSA in 1861. He wrote The Rise and Fall of the Confederate Government (1881).
