Definition of Donne, John in English:

( 1572–1631), English poet and clergyman. A metaphysical poet, he is noted for his Satires (circa 1590–99), Elegies (circa 1590–99), and love poems, which appeared in the collection Songs and Sonnets. As dean of St. Paul’s Cathedral, he was one of the most celebrated preachers of his age.
