A feverish disease of cattle, prevalent in Africa and usually fatal.
- This disease is caused by a parasitic protozoan of the genus Theileria (phylum Sporozoa, kingdom Protista), which lives in the host’s blood cells and is transmitted by the bite of the tick Rhipicephalus appendiculatus (family Ixodidae)
