A city in ancient Macedonia, close to the Aegean coast in northeastern Greece, near the port of Kaválla (ancient Neapolis). It was the scene in 42 bc of two battles in which Mark Antony and Octavian defeated Brutus and Cassius. Greek name Fílippoi.
