Adams, Ansel

(1902–84), US photographer, noted for his black-and-white photographs of American landscapes; full name Ansel Easton Adams. Many of his collections, such as My Camera in the National Parks (1950) and This Is the American Earth (1960), reflect his interest in conservation.
