Definition of angioneurotic in English:
(Of oedema) marked by swelling and itching of areas of skin, usually allergic in origin.
- Angioedema sometimes used to be called angioneurotic oedema.
- Foreign body aspiration, trauma, and allergic reaction (acute angioneurotic edema) are among the noninfectious causes of airway obstruction and are included in the differential diagnosis of patients presenting with stridor.
- Any patient with a history of angioneurotic edema, whether related to an ACE inhibitor, angiotensin receptor blockers, or another cause, should not be given an ACE inhibitor.
