Beckett, Samuel

Pronunciation: /ˈbekit/
(1906–89), Irish playwright, novelist, and poet; full name Samuel Barclay Beckett. He is well known for Waiting for Godot (1952), a seminal work in the Theater of the Absurd. Nobel Prize for Literature (1969).
