Berry, Chuck

Pronunciation: /ˈberē/
(1926-), US rock-and-roll singer, guitarist, and songwriter; full name Charles Edward Berry. One of the first great rock-and-roll stars, his recording career was interrupted by a period of imprisonment 1962–64. Notable songs: “Maybellene” (1955), “Johnny B Goode” (1958), and “My Ding A Ling” (1972).
