(1897–1978), US actor; born in France. Before going to Hollywood in the 1930s, he enjoyed a successful stage career in France. Notable movies: Mayerling (1936), All This, and Heaven Too (1940), Tales of Manhattan (1942), Gaslight (1944), and Barefoot in the Park (1968).
