Brooks, Mel

Pronunciation: /bro͝oks/
(1926-), US comedian, screenwriter, director, and actor; born Melvin Kaminsky. He was both writer and director for a number of movies, including The Producers (1968) and Young Frankenstein (1974), both of which he later adapted to the stage as musicals.
