Buffalo Bill

Pronunciation:
(1846–1917), US showman; born William Frederick Cody. He gained his nickname for killing 4,280 buffalo in 8 months to feed the Union Pacific Railroad workers. He subsequently devoted his life to his traveling Wild West Show.
