Cather, Willa

(1876–1974), US novelist and short-story writer; full name Willa Sibert Cather. Her home state of Nebraska provides the setting for some of her best writing. Notable works: O Pioneers! (1913), My Antonia (1918), and Death Comes for the Archbishop (1927).
