A non-custodial sentence which requires an offender to perform community service, observe a curfew, undergo treatment for drug or alcohol addiction, etc., instead of going to prison.
Example sentences
  • The Royal College of Music graduate, who was herself battling heroin addiction, was given a 12-month community order at Gloucester Crown Court.
  • He also resentenced him for breaching the original community order.
  • He was sentenced to six months in prison, with three months for breaching a community order to run consecutively.
