Relating to the cricoid and thyroid cartilages.
- The surgeon identifies the anatomical landmarks (ie, thyroid notch, cricothyroid membrane, inferior margin of the cricoid cartilage) and marks them.
- In addition to supplying the inferior constrictor muscle of the pharynx, the nerve may supply the cricothyroid muscle.
- It was almost certain, however, that the stenosis extended beyond the level of the cricothyroid membrane and probably below the level of a surgical tracheostomy.
