Goddard, Robert Hutchings

Pronunciation: /ˈɡädərd/
(1882–1945), US physicist. He designed and built the first successful liquid-fueled rocket. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) Goddard Space Flight Center is named for him.
