Any of a number of edible fishes with large eyes that occur widely on reefs in tropical and subtropical seas.
  • A nocturnal fish related to the bigeye (Priacanthus hamrur, family Priacanthidae). (also goggle-eye jack) A fish often found in shoals (Selar crumenophthalmus, family Carangidae).
