Gordimer, Nadine

Pronunciation: /ˈɡôrdəmər/
(1923–2014), South African novelist and short-story writer. Her experience with the effects of apartheid underlies much of her work. Notable novels: The Conservationist (Booker Prize, 1974), Burger’s Daughter (1979), and Get a Life (2005). Nobel Prize for Literature (1991).
