Hemings, Sally

Pronunciation: /ˈhemiNGz/
(1773–1835), US slave. A slave at Thomas Jefferson’s estate, Monticello, she was reported to be his mistress in the Richmond Recorder 1802. More recent evidence has shown that they probably had children together.
