Jackson, Thomas Jonathan

Pronunciation: /ˈjaksən/
(1824–63), Confederate general; known as Stonewall Jackson. The commander of the Shenandoah campaign 1861–62, he was mortally wounded by one of his own sharpshooters at Chancellorsville in 1863.
