A yellow- or orange-flowered grassland plant of the pea family. Native to Europe and the Mediterranean, it is sometimes grown as a fodder crop. Also called lady's finger.
- Anthyllis vulneraria, family Leguminosae.
- Visitors in spring can expect to find swathes of early purple orchids and cowslips dominating the grassland, while in early summer species such as meadow saxifrage, common rock-rose and kidney vetch can be seen.
- The tiny insect, which lives on kidney vetch growing on limestone grassland and calcareous sand dunes, hasn't been sighted since 2001 and is considered extinct, according to the province's butterfly recorder.
