A small moth which infests mills, granaries, and other places where grain is stored. The larvae spin silken webs.
- Several species in the family Pyralidae, in particular the meal moth (Pyralis farinalis).
- Unless you bring them home from the grocery store (weevils, flour beetles, Indian meal moths) or someone else brings them into your home when they are visiting then this is a surefire way to stop them on the outside first.
- Dichlorvos strips are labeled to be used in the space above all stored grains for the control of flying insects, including adult Indian meal moths.
- And Indian meal moths selected to resist granulosis virus have fewer offspring than the moths that carry no such immunity.
