Merman, Ethel

Pronunciation: /ˈmərmən/
(1908–1984), US singer and actress; born Ethel Zimmerman. The “queen of Broadway” for three decades, she performed in many plays and musicals, including Annie Get Your Gun (1946), Call Me Madam (1950), Gypsy (1959), and Hello, Dolly! (1970).
