Morgan, Thomas Hunt

Pronunciation: /ˈmôrɡən/
(1866–1945), US zoologist. His studies on inheritance using the fruit fly Drosophila showed that the genetic information is carried by genes arranged along the length of the chromosomes. Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine (1933).
